MCA Architects (Malone Campbell-Allen Architects) is a well-established practice based in Sydney with over 30 years experience and an excellent track record in the built environment. MCA Architects has completed a wide range of quality projects from Residential through to Education, Institutional, Laboratories, Heritage and Religious Architecture. Our long-term involvement in these realms in Australia and overseas has developed a deep understanding of the issues involved in each specialist area.
We are committed to a ‘client oriented’ approach combined with our creative abilities to produce excellent design that first and foremost meets our client’s needs. John McLennan, Director, has over 20 years’ experience in architectural design and documentation covering all aspects from masterplanning and sketch design to detailed documentation and contract administration across all Early Learning, Schools, Universities and Tertiary Education, Laboratories, Cleanrooms, Health, Heritage and Churches, Residential and Multi-residential, and TfNSW.
John McLennan approaches each project enthusiastically, aiming to help Clients resolve the project brief and budget, developing the project scope, and coordinate secondary consultants.
In 2020, John assumed Directorship of the practice with a passion and focus to delivery quality design projects for MCA’s Clients.

Jo Simmons is a member of the Leadership Team, with a focus on design, innovation and partnerships. She has extensive experience in architectural design and delivery, leading projects from inception and briefing through to documentation, construction and completion.
Her experience spans a range of sectors, with a particular focus on Schools, Universities and Tertiary Education. Jo is passionate about architecture’s ability to create environments where people can thrive and flourish, inspiring teaching and learning, supporting wellbeing and contributing positively to people and the planet.
Jo approaches each project collaboratively, working closely with clients and project teams to establish clear objectives and deliver thoughtful, practical and enduring design outcomes.
Curious and forward-thinking, Jo has a strong interest in innovation, exploring how technology can enhance design, streamline architectural processes and create greater value for clients.

Stephen Malone Architect, remains a good friend and mentor of the practice and leadership team. He has over 40 years experience in architectural design. His background is as a principal design architect in leading Sydney firms on a wide range of projects including numerous large scale buildings.
